It’s only been a little bit since I last posted, so not as much to update on, but just as many cute pics to share!
First, if you have 6 minutes to spare, I present 365 emily! It’s a bit late, but finally completed, 365 photos, one from each day of emily’s first year of life:
emily is talking up a storm. She is picking up new words all the time and even starting to put two words together like “moe cheee!” (more cheese). Cheese happens to be her favorite thing ever, particularly the “stick” variety, so no surprise there. She also loves blueberries and fruit squeezies and mac and cheese and amazingly, broccoli (and recently asparagus!). Which means at least one of our children is eating their fruits and veggies, 1 out of 2 ain’t bad! She is also becoming more adept at doing things herself like using a fork and spoon and she can put her own shoes on (well, the fancy white sandals which are her favorite and she refuses to wear anything else. In fact, emily is very adamant about what goes on her feet and she pretty much always refuses to wear a jacket or sweatshirt. She knows what she wants and she will “annNNNHHH!” at you until she gets it. She also recently started saying no. It makes things a little more difficult sometimes, but is mostly hysterical because of how firmly and matter-of-factly she says it: “emily, lets go change your diaper”…. “no”…. “emily, do you want to take a tub?”….”no”….
Here’s a list of the words she is currently saying:
Ooo ooo ooo (monkey sound)
Night night (nye nye)
Lady Gaga the dog (gah gah)
Meanwhile noah has moved up to middle-pre-school and he is really enjoying it! All of his friend’s moved up with him so it’s great that they all get to stay together. He’s been doing more and more writing of letters and he loves to do pretend play. We got a little play kitchen for noah and em and both of them love to make us “dinner,” there isn’t much cuter than that.
The first half of August we had my mom’s birthday, noah’s friend Layla’s birthday party (with a petting zoo! noah got to hold a little kitten and a baby bunny), photo day at swim class (noah can swim on his own now with just a floatie noodle!), a trip to the zoo with Michelle and Marvin, and then there was this big event in the middle of August, oh yes, my sister’s wedding! But that is for next post. Here’s the pics:
